The
variable force option calculates the actual force in the tendon at all points
along the tendon path and uses that force in the program for the design of the
section. The user can select several
optional pour joint configurations for use in calculating the variable force.
A
calculation can be made with the variable force option that will simulate a
delay pour strip and calculate the mild steel reinforcing required within the
strip considering full continuity of the section. This is accomplished by defining tendons that stop at each side
of the intended pour strip location.
This
option is not available in PTData unless the Long form printing option is used
to view the data.
GENERALIZED
TENDON PATH OPTION
The user
can input a distinct tendon ordinate at each of 20 points along each span. The program assumes a parabolic curve as the
tendon path between each point and determines the tendon equivalent load based
upon the tendon path described.
With the
metric option the user can input in either English or metric units and with a
single mouse click switch from on to the other. This is a great aid for a situation where you are used to using a
particular set of units and must present your design in another as you can easily
design in the units you are used to and present the final output in the desired
form.
This option
allows long form output to be printed using the short form PTData input to
generate the design.
